You know that pizza is embedded in our practices. Did you check the last practice program ?
- run 40 minutes
- 10 sprints
- push ups
- abdominals
- soft toss
- ground balls
- margherita abbondante mozzarella e birra media
It’s a very important part of the practice.
We say that in Italy all the best affairs is made at the table. And so Panno (the manager). He will decide the lineup watching the players behaviour while we are eating pizza…the attitude on cutting it, the focus on the slice of pizza…

I think if I asked my Calabrese P what it means to pay alla romana he’d probably say it means skipping out on the check
No, there are no prejudices down here, why do you ask?

Sounds like a great life to me! Playing baseball in Italy and then eating pizza, etc.
Fun blog! I love love love baseball (am a passionate Red Sox fan) and also love Italy! I had friends from Rovato/Coccaglio here in Hawaii visiting me this summer. I tried my best to explain baseball to them as we watched a Red Sox game on TV one morning before hitting the beach for the day. I may need to try to catch a game in Italy with them the next time I am there for a visit.

I remember midnight dinners and coffee after…. it’s actually a good time once you get used to it. Who says you shouldn’t eat after a certian hour or you’ll gain weight? Oh yeah… us over-weight Americans. - Cheers Joe
